Silent Hill 2 is definately one of the more psycho-dramatic games of the Silent Hill Series. While at first, I have to say I didn't like it - I thought it strayed too much from the original. But after playing it a bit - I understood what the point of the game was. Not so much to be an exact replica of Silent Hill, but to shed some light as to what exactly Silent Hill is. I'm sure this is all down to individual opinion, but Silent Hill 2 taught me that a person can bring themselves to Silent Hill as a sort of purgatory.
If you look at each character in the game - they are all there for a reason - something bad they did in their lives. We know Eddie shot a dog and shot a person for picking on him - We know Angela most likely killed her father - We know James killed...Ah I won't for that far as to spoil anything. But, it's definately interesting to see the other side of Silent Hill. It's not just for those directly affected (Cheryl) but for anyone who needs it.
It still leaves a lot to be answered and speculated upon, but it is a nice chapter of explanation for me. Once you get to understanding that, it's not so bad that there's no demons (aside from Phead) and cults running rampid! Enjoy!
